Working together
for our communities’ success

Each member of the Devon Colleges Group:

  • agrees that the effective collaboration of the colleges in Devon is key to delivering the skills our regional economy needs, both now and for the future

  • has a shared vision which is focused on driving regional economic growth and productivity

  • is strongly and resolutely committed to supporting the achievement of the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (HotSW LEP) strategic economic plan

  • is committed to close partnership working with the combined authorities in the informed development of their devolution and economic and skills plans

  • is collectively committed to bringing greater local knowledge, information and influence with decision makers and funding bodies to support education and skills aspirations.

Acting as an individual organisation and as part of the Devon Colleges Group, each college has pledged to:

  • play a critical role in the analysis of current and future economic, educational and skills needs, provision and gaps, building further on the existing evidence base

  • effectively deliver Devon’s growth ambitions within a prompt timescale. In particular we want to see businesses grow more quickly, make best use of funding to invest in workforce skills, and ensure that Devon residents have the right skills to access good jobs

  • ensure that collectively we continue to deliver high-quality and relevant education and training for all, responding quickly to emerging needs and changing patterns of demand

  • provide a co-ordinated approach and greater focus on identifying areas of strength and specialisation, without diminishing our key local offer

  • combine our efforts to enable the colleges to deliver training that may otherwise not be viable

  • provide greater transparency around data and agreed measurable outcomes

  • significantly contribute to a higher wage economy, wealth creation and individual prosperity in Devon and the wider region.
